Flag Day is celebrated on June 14.
It commemorates the adoption of the flag of the United States on June 14, 1777 by resolution of the Second Continental Congress. The red in the American flag signifies hardiness and valour. White indicates purity and innocence. Blue signifies vigilance, perseverance, and justice. FlagDay was first celebrated in 1877 to mark the 100th anniversary of the national.
