March is National Kidney Month

March is National Kidney Month, a time to bring awareness to kidney disease. More than 9 out of 10 people who have kidney disease don’t know they have it.

Chronic kidney disease is a serious condition, affecting more than 30 million adults in the United States, yet people in the early stages may have not have symptoms. If you have diabetes, high blood pressure, or a family history of kidney failure, you are at risk for kidney disease.

We at UME are proud to bring awareness to this illness with our donation of $1,000.00 to a local family who are effected by the devitalizing and weakening effects of this disease.

Meet Josh and his wife Missy. Josh is a 38 year old father of four young children ranging from the ages of 4-11 years old who is suffering from end stage kidney disease.
You can read about his courageous battle below and also contribute to a GoFund Campaign that has been established to assist with the family’s living expenses and medical bills.

All of your generous contributions will help in reaching their goal of $20,000!
