Here at UME, we would like to wish you a Happy Pride month!
LGBTQ Pride is celebrated annually in June to honor the 1969 Stonewall riots as well as the achievements for equal opportunity amongst LGBTQ Americans.
The purpose of the commemorative month is to recognize the impact LGBTQ individuals have on our society and most notably, to celebrate diversity.
Pride events welcome allies from all walks of life to restore a sense of community and unity. It is a time to rejoice and acknowledge the ground work laid by our predecessors.
