Today we celebrate the birthday of Abraham Lincoln, our 16th president who abolished slavery, preserved the Union, strengthened the federal government and moderated the economy.
Lincoln is remembered as America’s martyr hero, and is consistently ranked both by scholars and the public as among the greatest U.S. presidents.
