UME loses its biggest fan, Charlie Diener. Charlie was our CEO’s loving father and mentor.

Charles M Diener, age 76, of Upper Gwynedd passed away suddenly on May 4th, 2018.  Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Wilbur and Catherine Diener.  He was the Director of Operation for the Unisys Corporation for 30+ years.  He was a member of St. Stanislaus, and previously of Corpus Christi Roman Catholic Church.  He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, taking trips to all over the world and watching sports – especially watching the Philadelphia Eagles win the Super Bowl.

He is survived by four loving children; Anne Marie Chapman, and husband Matthew of Lansdale, Bernadette Derstine and her husband Rick of Brandon, FL, Charles Diener and his wife Helen of Lansdale, Mary Ellen Doren and her husband Thomas of North Wales and eleven grandchildren; Ricky, Noelle, Maggie, Jack, Lexie, Joe, Angelina, Sean, Laynie, Matthew and Evelyn, and one great granddaughter; Amelia.  As well as sisters Susan (George) Kimmel, Florence, and Katherine (John) Pimpinella and brother William (Patty) Diener.

He was proceeded in death by daughter Catherine as well as his beloved wife of 52 years Anne Marie (nee. Golden).  Relative and friends are invited to attend his viewing Friday morning, May 11th from 9:30-10:30, followed by funeral mass at 11, at St. Stanislaus Church 51 Lansdale Avenue Lansdale, PA 19446.  Internment St. John Neumann Cemetery.  Arrangements are by Simcox-McIlvaine Funeral Home in Lansdale.  In lieu of flowers, please send donations to The Lansdale Tavern (839 West Main Street, Lansdale PA 19446) – care of Jim – so Charlie can continue to buy everyone drinks. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him!
